The 406 range
consists of four models offering a choice between sedan and Coupé variants as
well as two petrol and one turbo-diesel engine. Pricing is aggressive and standard equipment levels are high with all versions maintaining Peugeot's standards of quality, comfort, safety and performance. Spirited performance comes courtesy of a 2.0-litre, double overhead cam, 16-valve, four cylinder engine and the 406 ST's standard equipment list includes climate-control air-conditioning, driver and passenger airbags and ABS anti-lock brakes. Also standard are electric windows, remote control central locking, passively armed engine immobiliser, an auto rain-sensing windscreen wiper system, front and rear fog lights, velour upholstery, a height & reach adjustable steering column and a six-speaker CD-compatible stereo.
