Tehama serves its customers in Yemen through a network of sales, parts and
service outlets spread over the country.
With its headquarters in the port city of Hodeidah, it has branches and outlets
in Sana'a, Taiz, Aden & Mukalla, with plans to open more outlets.
Parts Warehouses
In Hodeidah and the branches cover a total area of 26,000 sq.ft.
with modern bins, shelves and storage trays. A computer controlled parts
inventory of over 12000 Caterpillar fast and slow moving line items results in
an excellent parts availability. For quick processing of orders, parts
operations are telex-linked to the main computer at the Caterpillar parts
distribution Depot at Grimbergen, Belgium. A complete Caterpillar microfiche
parts information system is maintained to ensure the supply of current parts. A
mobile parts delivery and service van moves around the country for local
distribution of fast moving parts and for providing emergency service in remote
areas.

Service outlets
These are well equipped with sophisticated diagnostic and other
tools and undertake all kind of equipment repairs and overhauls. A fuel
injection test bench is available in the main workshop in Hodeidah. Repairs and
field services are carried out by qualified, skilled and trained technicians.
Training
is an ongoing process at Tehama both for its own staff and the
operation and maintenance staff of the customers. The training facility at
Hodeidah is fully equipped with various teaching aids. On-site Cat-care training
of proper operation and maintenance of equipment is carried out for customer
personnel.
Incountry services
Customers expect a long and productive life from their
machines and equipment. To fulfill this objective, Tehama offers several
incountry services such as:
1. Equipment proposals
Job analysis, equipment recommendations, equipment investment analysis,
machine specifications comparisons etc.
2. Engines and Gensets.
Sizing of engines and gensets with computer aided programmes to meet customer
requirements. Guidance, audits and assistance on proper installation of
equipment. Selection of correct and matching controls and control panels. Start
up and commissioning services.
3. Pre- delivery service.
Port survey of customers' new equipment on arrival in Yemen. Assistance in
filing claims for shortages/damages if any. Prompt repairs/replacement of parts.
4. Delivery service
Assembly, commissioning and delivery of new equipment. Training of customer
staff on operation and maintenance. Post delivery service visits to customer
sites. Warranty administration.
5. Product improvement implementation programmes
On site product improvements as recommended by the manufacturer from time to
time.
6. Technical analysis programmes I and II.
On site inspection and adjustment of machines at pre-determined intervals.
Trouble shooting of machine breakdowns with sophisticated diagnostic tools.
Early warning and recommendations of repairs and
overhauls. Customized maintenance management contracts.
7. Service support. Mobile service van. Fast response for field/workshop
repairs. On site stationing of service staff for large fleets. Preventive
maintenance programmes.
8. Parts facility assistance
Guidance in organizing customers' on site parts stores and basic inventory
control. Training in warehousing, Kardex etc. Supply of microfiche/parts
catalogues as required.
9. Duty free import of parts
Direct shipment of parts from Caterpillar for international contractors enjoying
duty exempt status. Adaptability checks. 24 hour shipment for urgent parts. Loan
of parts to customers for emergencies. Parts rate contracts and parts return
facility for fleet owners.
